Gazprom Planning Power Plants in Turkey

Gazprom plans to build and operate power plants in Turkey, the Referans newspaper reported, citing Alexander Medvedev, Gazprom’s deputy chief executive.

The investments would be undertaken in partnership with Turkish company Aksa, Medvedev said, Referans reported. Gazprom also plans to sell gas directly to Aksa once Turkey changes regulations that currently prevent such sales, Medvedev said.

Gazprom and Turkey’s pipeline company Botas are negotiating the price Turkey pays for gas and the amount it’s committed to buy, though the talks aren’t official, Medvedev told Referans.
