It's officially cold this weekend — wintertime cold. So you need to choose whether to spend the weekend inside with a warm cup of tea or at a club with a cold one in your hand. And since you have to get used to this weather for the next half a year or so, I vote for going to the concerts.
Don't miss The Prodigy, which will play Stadium Live for two nights in a row — Friday and Saturday. Emerging in the mid-'90s as one of the leading British electronic dance music bands, the Prodigy is still going strong. Their new album came out earlier this year with music that goes back to their earlier, harsher '90s sound. Frontman's Keith Flint's antics on stage are as good as ever.
Stadium Live. 7 Ulitsa Baltiyskaya. Metro Sokol. Tickets from 3,500 rubles ($54). At 8 p.m.
A new discovery on Moscow indie pop scene, Sirotkin, will play at Powerhouse this Saturday together with Sea Radio. If you are into lyrical pop and new R'n'B, this is a gig for you.
Powerhouse. 7/4 Ulitsa Goncharnaya. Metro Marksistskaya. Tickets 500 rubles ($8). At 8 p.m.
On Monday, East India Youth, which debuted at Ahmad Tea Music Festival last summer will come back to Moscow for a solo gig at 16 Tons. East India Youth is the one-man show of William Doyle, who plays several instruments. His music is best described as independent electronic, some of it rather danceable.
16 Tons. 6 Presnensky Val. Metro Ulitsa 1905 Goda. Tickets from 1,500 rubles ($23). At 9 p.m.
