A life-size plastic model of a cow rests on the floor of the Central House of Artists on Sunday, with a pirate-like patch over its right eye. The cow was one of dozens of bovines that were painted at the Art Moskva contemporary art fair in preparations for Moscow's first-ever Cow Parade. In the upcoming event, scheduled for August and October, painted cows will be placed on streets and squares throughout the city. Previously, Cow Parades have taken place in London, New York, Sydney, Tokyo and Prague. For more information, see www.cowparade.ru. Photograph by Michael Eckels.
