Sergei Bondarchuk's adaptation of Mikhail Sholokhov's "And Quiet Flows the Don" premieres on Channel One this week, more than 15 years after it was shot. Starring Rupert Everett, the Italian-Russian co-production was filmed in English, but will be shown dubbed into Russian. Everett's role has been voiced by Maxim Sukhanov, while Nikita Mikhalkov narrates. Bondarchuk did not finish the adaptation before his death in 1994 due to financing problems. His son Fyodor Bondarchuk completed the project, which will be shown as a seven-part miniseries starting Tuesday.
