How to Avoid a Fine: Have Putin on Your Car Hood

The only way to avoid a speeding ticket from Russia's notoriously corrupt traffic police, rumor has it, is to take out your wallet. Until now.

In a video titled "Reaction of the Traffic Police to Putin's Portrait on a Hood," which is currently doing the rounds on Russian social media, a driver shows how to get on law enforcement's good side.

The minute-long video, which was filmed via a dashboard camera, shows a car driving along a highway before pulling over.

Upon seeing the image of Russian President Vladimir Putin emblazoned on the car hood, the policemen first seem surprised, then smile warmly as one of the policeman salutes and proceeds to usher the car on its way.

The video does not show the car hood in its entirety, and its authenticity could not be independently verified.
