Two Chechen men are under investigation after a brawl at an erotic massage parlor in Volgograd left police officers bruised and beaten, a news report said Thursday.
The suspects, identified as two Chechen men aged 24 and 26, demanded a refund after receiving what they saw as unsatisfactory services at Volgograd's "Theater of the Erotic," an establishment specializing in private dances and sensual massage, the newspaper reported.
Police were called to the scene after the men grew irate in demanding a refund.
"The intoxicated young men attacked police officers with their fists," when police attempted to remove them from the premises, the report said, citing a source in the regional branch of the Investigative Committee.
"Each of the three police officers received injuries in the form of scrapes and bruises. They still managed to detain the ruffians, who were taken to the police station," the source was cited as saying.
Police are currently probing the incident. The suspects face up to five years each in prison if convicted of having assaulted police officers.
A Message from The Moscow Times:
Dear readers,
We are facing unprecedented challenges. Russia's Prosecutor General's Office has designated The Moscow Times as an "undesirable" organization, criminalizing our work and putting our staff at risk of prosecution. This follows our earlier unjust labeling as a "foreign agent."
These actions are direct attempts to silence independent journalism in Russia. The authorities claim our work "discredits the decisions of the Russian leadership." We see things differently: we strive to provide accurate, unbiased reporting on Russia.
We, the journalists of The Moscow Times, refuse to be silenced. But to continue our work, we need your help.
