KRASNAYA POLYANA — Natalie Geisenberger led a German one-two in the Sochi Olympic luge Tuesday after breaking her own track record in the third run.
Geisenberger's run time of 49.765 seconds shaved 0.126 seconds off her own previous best at the Sanki Sliding Center and smoked the competition, effectively rendering the fourth run a formality.
Silver went to her fellow German Tatjana Hüfner, who finished 1.139 seconds behind, while Erin Hamlin of the U.S. claimed the bronze 1.337 seconds behind the winner.
Germany already has a gold medal in the luge from the Sochi Olympics after Felix Loch successfully defended his men's singles title Sunday.
Geisenberger adds Sochi gold to the bronze she won in Vancouver in 2010 and a world championship gold from last year.
