2 Iranian Nationals Killed in Car Crash in Astrakhan

Two Iranian nationals were killed after their car collided with another vehicle on a highway near the southern city of Astrakhan, a spokeswoman for the local Emergency Situations Ministry department said.

According to Anzhelika Barinova, a Chevrolet Cruze car with Iranian citizens crashed into a Volga car with local residents on the Astrakhan-Zelenga highway and both vehicles ended up in a ditch.

"Two people, who are citizens of Iran, were killed and five more people, including a child, were injured," she said.

A local police spokesman said the two people killed in the accident were both Iranian women, adding that two children were among the injured.
