Ninety-three years ago today, on May 3, 1920, Bolsheviks attempted to seize power in the Democratic Republic of Georgia with an armed coup in Tiflis (Tbilisi). The overnight attack on the Tiflis Military College was repelled by Georgian forces, but the government, formed after the collapse of the Russian Empire, fell to the Red Army the following year.
