Aeroflot Rebuffs Watchdog

Aeroflot disputes the Audit Chamber's opinion that the airline is not being run efficiently, the company said in a press release, Interfax reported Wednesday.

"In its report, the Audit Chamber, while correctly noting that the high cost of flights has been driven by convenient slots and aircraft fleet additions, makes, in our view, the inaccurate conclusion that the company is not being run efficiently," the airline said.

Aeroflot believes that convenient departure and arrival times for passengers and new aircraft are a key competitive advantage for the airline, one that has enabled it to get more passengers.

The carrier also thinks its advertising and administrative costs cannot be classified as ineffective.
