ROSTOV-ON-DON — Officials said an Islamist warlord, seven militants, four officers and one civilian were killed in three separate incidents in the North Caucasus.
Anti-Terrorist Committee spokesman Nikolai Sintsov said the leader of Islamist separatists in Ingushetia was killed in a shootout Friday in Ekazhevo along with two other militants.
Also Friday, police said four officers and five militants were killed in Dagestan.
In Kabardino-Balkaria, three masked militants stormed a school and stabbed a volleyball player in the gym, police spokesman Andrei Ushakov said.
