Arkhangelsk Port Hit by Fire

A large fire broke out at the Port of Arkhangelsk on Sunday, Interfax reported, citing the regional office of the Emergency Situations Ministry.

"The fire in the port area occurred about 4:30 p.m. Moscow time. Warehoused lumber is burning. The area of the fire is about 3,000 square meters," an Interfax source said.

According to the ministry's regional office, almost all the city's firefighting forces were called in to fight the fire, which threatened to spread to nearby buildings.
