LONDON — Bashneft plans to restart three units at its Novo Ufa plant at the end of this month.
A catalytic reformer and two thermal crackers will start operating on July 31, according to the Energy Ministry's CDU-TEK unit, which collates information gathered from oil companies.
The reformer, which makes gasoline components, was halted on July 20 for maintenance. One thermal cracker, used to make distillate fuels including diesel, stopped operating on May 21. CDU-TEK didn't say when the second cracker was halted.
The Novo Ufa facility can process 284,000 barrels of crude a day.
Bashneft also announced plans to sell 50 billion rubles ($1.8 billion) of bonds in a statement on its web site Monday.
Meanwhile, LUKoil plans to halt a distillation unit at its Perm refinery in September, its second-biggest plant in Russia.
The processing unit known as AVT-5 won't operate from Sept. 1 to Oct. 16, according to CDU-TEK. LUKoil's refinery in Perm close to the Ural Mountains can process 249,000 barrels a day of crude.
TNK-BP plans to shut a distillation unit in September at its Ryazan refinery. The unit known as AVT-4 won't operate from Sept. 1 until Oct. 21, according to CDU-TEK. The refinery, TNK-BP's largest plant in Russia, can process 340,000 barrels a day.
A Message from The Moscow Times:
Dear readers,
We are facing unprecedented challenges. Russia's Prosecutor General's Office has designated The Moscow Times as an "undesirable" organization, criminalizing our work and putting our staff at risk of prosecution. This follows our earlier unjust labeling as a "foreign agent."
These actions are direct attempts to silence independent journalism in Russia. The authorities claim our work "discredits the decisions of the Russian leadership." We see things differently: we strive to provide accurate, unbiased reporting on Russia.
We, the journalists of The Moscow Times, refuse to be silenced. But to continue our work, we need your help.
Your support, no matter how small, makes a world of difference. If you can, please support us monthly starting from just $2. It's quick to set up, and every contribution makes a significant impact.
By supporting The Moscow Times, you're defending open, independent journalism in the face of repression. Thank you for standing with us.
