Court: Repay Mosque Debt

A Moscow court on Friday ordered a Muslim organization and a contractor to pay 64.5 million rubles ($2.2 million) to architect firm Aversproyekt in connection with the reconstruction of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.

Aversproyekt sued the Spiritual Board of Muslims and contractor Inzhtransstroi over the unpaid debt, Interfax reported.

The Moscow Cathedral Mosque, located at 7 Vypolzov Pereulok, opened in 1904 and has been undergoing a major reconstruction since 2005.
