Ukraine Gas Transit Up 10%

Ukraine's transportation of Russian natural gas to Europe increased by more than 10 percent in February as temperatures plunged, state-run natural gas pipeline operator Ukrtransgaz said in a statement on its web site.

Ukraine carried 9.28 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia last month, compared with 8.4 bcm in February 2010.

Ukraine increased gas pumping by 6 percent to 19.33 bcm across its territory in the first two months of the year, Ukrtransgaz said.
