Eni, Gazprom Accord to '12

MILAN, Italy — Italy’s Eni and Gazprom have extended a 2006 strategic agreement until 2012 aiming to boost industrial and commercial operations in Russia and other countries, Eni said Thursday.

The companies also signed agreements for technical and scientific cooperation in the upstream and downstream sectors, Eni said in a statement.

Integrated working groups will be set up to study application of drilling, production, transportation, energy saving and liquefied natural gas technologies and processes, as well as personnel training, Eni said.
