2 Russians in Spacewalk

Two cosmonauts conducted a 6 1/2-hour spacewalk outside the International Space Station to install and reposition equipment.

Fyodor Yurchikhin and Oleg Skripochka were unable to complete one of the tasks, the relocation of a camera from one side of the Rassvet module to another. The camera would not sit properly on its new mounting, Yurchikhin said in video broadcast from Russian mission control outside Moscow.

The cosmonauts did install a workstation on the space lab’s Zvezda service module for use by Russian and European space flyers and took samples of insulation from the space station’s exterior to test them for any sign of bio-

organisms.
