Trial Delayed for Former Yevroset Owner

A London court has postponed until March 21 a hearing into the extradition of Yevgeny Chichvarkin, the former owner of the Yevroset mobile phone retailer wanted in Russia on kidnapping charges, Interfax reported Monday.

Chichvarkin, who has said the charges were fabricated by corrupt police officials looking to take control of his business, said the London court apparently was waiting for the outcome of the trial of eight Yevroset employees that is currently under way in Moscow.

Those suspects face the same charges that he does.
