Russia’s buckwheat crop may more than halve this year to the lowest level in 40 years because of the country’s drought, SovEcon said Wednesday.
Russia harvested 564,000 metric tons of buckwheat last year, the research group said. The millet crop will be at a “record low” for a second year, while the barley crop will also fall, contributing to a shortage of cereals, SovEcon said, without providing figures.
