Take a Boat Ride

Boat cruises along the Moscow River have begun again. Although the most popular route runs from Kievskaya to Novospassky Bridge, there is a variety of options for river cruises, both in the center of Moscow and in the suburbs. Boats between Kievskaya and Novospassky run every 20 minutes from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and make several stops along the way. Boats making a trip from Kolomenskoye to Brateyevo leave every hour from 12:30, also stopping at Marino, and boats making a round trip to Strogino, turning around at Troitse-Lykovo run every hour and a half between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Two night cruises make a round trip from Kievskaya, turning around at Krymsky Bridge. They leave at 9:40 and 10:20 and last an hour and a half. Tickets cost 300 rubles for adults and 150 rubles for children between the ages of six and 12. The ticket price is the same regardless of where you disembark. Tickets can be purchased at the dock or through the company's web site.

The boats are also available for rent for parties or group tours starting at 5,600 rubles an hour for a minimum of two hours. The company also provides catering.

A Message from The Moscow Times:

Dear readers,

We are facing unprecedented challenges. Russia's Prosecutor General's Office has designated The Moscow Times as an "undesirable" organization, criminalizing our work and putting our staff at risk of prosecution. This follows our earlier unjust labeling as a "foreign agent."

These actions are direct attempts to silence independent journalism in Russia. The authorities claim our work "discredits the decisions of the Russian leadership." We see things differently: we strive to provide accurate, unbiased reporting on Russia.

We, the journalists of The Moscow Times, refuse to be silenced. But to continue our work, we need your help.

Your support, no matter how small, makes a world of difference. If you can, please support us monthly starting from just $2. It's quick to set up, and every contribution makes a significant impact.

By supporting The Moscow Times, you're defending open, independent journalism in the face of repression. Thank you for standing with us.
