MOSCOW -- U.S. tobacco giant Philip Morris, maker of Marlboro brand cigarettes, has acquired a 51 percent stake in the Kharkov tobacco factory in Ukraine, the company announced Tuesday. According to a company statement, Philip Morris' investment will be used to modernize the plant's production facilities, improve local brands and add American-blend cigarettes to the product line. No information was given on the amount of the investment.
