UN Members in Arrears

UNITED NATIONS () -- United Nations members owed the organization some $1.8 billion at the end of 1994, with Russia the top debtor closely followed by the United States.


Figures issued Friday showed members owed $1.3 billion for peacekeeping and $480 million in regular budget arrears.


Russia's $507 million debt was all for peacekeeping. The United States' arrears of $469 million included $248 million in regular budget dues and $221 million for peacekeeping.
