Ukraine Farm Supremo

KIEV () -- President Leonid Kuchma on Tuesday appointed a first deputy prime minister in charge of agriculture to coordinate plans to restructure Ukraine's farm sector.


Petro Sabluk, 54, was appointed deputy prime minister in October. He also heads the Ukrainian Institute for Agrarian Economics.


Kuchma's economic reform programm envisages introducing market rules into the agricultural sector, which is still heavily centralized.
