PARIS () -- France said Friday that if the U.S. Congress passed legislation undercutting the Uruguay Round trade liberalization treaty it would react in kind.
"We insist that the Americans keep their word and ratify the treaty in good faith without adding amendments because, if they decide to modify their position, we will respond and take a symmetrical stance," European Affairs Minister Alain Lamassoure told France Inter radio.
