Trade Gap Narrows

BRATISLAVA () -- Slovakia's trade deficit for the first half of 1994 narrowed to a provisional 1.16 billion crowns ($41 million) from 7.38 billion ($260 million) a year earlier, according to the Statistical Bureau.


Exports totalled 97.1 billion crowns ($3.43 billion) and imports 98.3 billion ($3.47 billion).


In June 1994, Slovakia had a trade surplus of 1.32 billion crowns ($47 million), compared with a deficit of six billion ($212 million) in June 1993.
