Stolichny Eyes Austria

MOSCOW () -- Stolichny, one of Russia's biggest banks, will soon open a fully owned subsidiary in Austria, a company official said Monday.


Spokesman Sergei Meshcheryakov said that the subsidiary, due to open "in the nearest months," would only serve corporate bodies.


He quoted Alexander Smolensky, Stolichny's president, as saying that the bank would pass the documents necessary to obtain a banking licence to the Austrian Finance Ministry and the National Bank of Austria this week.
