Spurs to Appeal Fine

LONDON -- English premier division side Tottenham Hotspur are to appeal against the FA punishment handed out to them Tuesday. Club chairman Alan Sugar confirmed Thursday the club would be requesting an appeal against the three sanctions levied against the club for making irregular payments to players. The penalties were a 12-point deduction imposed on the club next season, a ?600,000 ($911,800) fine and a one-year ban from the FA Cup.
