MOSCOW () -- Russia's share market was in the doldrums Monday and some traders suggested a slowdown in trading activities was prompted by closures of enterprises' registers ahead of annual shareholders' meetings.
Traders reported deals in shares which edged up to about $10 from $9.60 last week due to a large buy order. They said the news that the company was experiencing losses did not affect the price.
At a shareholders meeting Feb. 17 it was announced that Nizhnevartovskneftegaz's losses totalled $200 million over the last year.
