Shokhin Looks to G-7

MOSCOW -- Russian Economics Minister Alexander Shokhin urged the West on Friday to tear down trade barriers and ease its integration into the Group of Seven major industrial nations. In a statement to mark next week's G-7 summit in Naples, Shokhin said Russia expected a sympathetic hearing given the high social price its reforms were demanding. "It is hard to reconcile declarations about partnership with discriminatory measures towards the Russian economy," he said.
