JERUSALEM () -- A Russian envoy arrived in Israel on Thursday for a four-day visit to discuss Middle East peace with leaders of the Jewish state and PLO leader Yasser Arafat in Gaza, the Foreign Ministry said.
Special envoy Victor Posuvaliuk entered Israel from Jordan after meetings earlier this week with officials in Amman, Beirut and Damascus.
Posuvaliuk was due to visit Palestinian-ruled Gaza later on Thursday for talks with Arafat. He will meet Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Foreign Minister Shimon Peres on his return to Israel on Friday.
