Rogozin Remarks Disowned

A senior Kremlin source disowned on Wednesday remarks by the Russian envoy to NATO that Moscow remained suspicious of Washington’s new anti-missile plans and feared they could remain a security threat.

The remark, made by Dmitry Rogozin on Tuesday, contrasted with President Dmitry Medvedev’s positive assessment of U.S. President Barack Obama’s announcement that Washington would drop plans to deploy parts of its anti-missile shield in Europe.

“Not everything Rogozin says reflects the official Russian policy,” the Kremlin source, who refused to be identified, told reporters.
