DUBLIN () -- Forget guns. Irish robbers have found rats are a more effective weapon to frighten people into abandoning cars and possessions, police said.
Dublin police said robbers toss rodents into an open car window or sun roof and wait for their terrified victims -- usually women -- to flee.
The spokesman said they were advising victims to take their chances with the rats. "We decided the lady would be safer staying in her car with the rats -- otherwise she would be meeting up with two-legged rats," he said.
