MOSCOW () -- The gap between rich and poor in Russia is widening, according to a new official survey of incomes published Thursday.
The average income of the wealthiest 10 percent was 12.3 times higher than that of the poorest in September and October, the government's center for economic analysis said in a report, compared with 10.2-fold a year ago.
But despite the growth in incomes, 32 million people were living below subsistence level in October.
