Primagaz Wins Race

PLYMOUTH, England Primagaz won the two-handed transatlantic race in record time after surviving a collision with a shark 42 miles from the finish. As the trimaran, skippered by Loick Peyron and Cam Lewis, edged towards the Newport, Rhode Island, finish line on Tuesday night, travelling at 20 knots, it hit the shark and the two skippers were forced to heave to and check for damage. With nothing but superficial damage recorded, Primagaz was able to cross the line in a record-breaking nine days and eight hours.
