President To Visit U.S., Address UN

WASHINGTON -- President Boris Yeltsin said Tuesday he planned to address the UN General Assembly during a visit to the United States and named Sept. 25 as a possible date. "Everything is going smoothly as far as my visit is concerned. It will be simultaneously a visit and a keynote address to the General Assembly," Yeltsin told reporters before leaving Moscow for the Far East. The White House said Monday that Yeltsin and President Bill Clinton had discussed the visit during a telephone conversation on Monday, but said the meeting might take place around November.
