WARSAW -- The Polish Privatization Ministry has approved the purchase of a 24.9 percent stake in Zywiec brewery by the Dutch brewing giant Heineken Internationaal Beheer BV, Zywiec has said. Early in March, both breweries signed an initial agreement under which Heineken would pay about $40 million for 747,000 shares of a new 1 million share issue. The agreement and the new issue have been already approved by Zywiec shareholders and the Polish Securities Commission and the privatization ministry's consent paved the way to finalizing the deal.
