GREEN BAY, Wisconsin -- The Green Bay Packers have signed quarterback Brett Favre to a contract reportedly worth $19 million over five years.
Before Thursday's announcement, Favre's agent had said that the quarterback, a restricted free agent, might stage a long training camp holdout if the Packers did not sign him.
Favre, 24, has helped the Packers to consecutive winning seasons since joining the team in a trade with Atlanta after his rookie year of 1991.
