O.J. Friend Dies at 45

LOS ANGELES () -- Former wide receiver Bob Chandler, a close friend and former teammate of O.J. Simpson in college and the National Football League, died Friday of lung cancer. He was 45.


The death was announced by the Los Angeles Raiders, with whom Chandler ended his 12-year NFL playing career in 1982. Like Simpson, he later moved into broadcasting.


Chandler was a teammate of Simpson at the University of Southern California for one season and with the Buffalo Bills for seven seasons.
