Officer Killed in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan -- Unknown gunmen shot dead a Russian officer in Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe on Tuesday. It was the second killing of a Russian serviceman in this former Soviet republic in five days. Vladimir Borisenkov, a lieutenant colonel with a local Russian border guard unit, was killed on Tuesday morning, border guards said. A Russian soldier guarding Tajikistan's border with Afghanistan was killed on Friday, said border guards.
