North Korean Brutality

SEOUL () -- A former North Korean guard said Thursday that tens of thousands of political prisoners "live worse than dogs and pigs" in concentration camps in his communist country.


North Korea has in the past denied the existence of concentration camps, but Corporal Ahn Myong Chul said he knew of five camps in the country, including one in South Hamkyung province where he was a member of a guard unit for seven years before he defected two months ago.
