No Terrorist Link, Says Party Leader

The Moscow Times
A top former Communist Party leader denied party ties to international terrorist organizations Thursday, as hearings on the party continued in Russia's Constitutional Court. Valentin Falin, who headed the Central Committee's international department, defended the party's financial support of leftist organizations abroad, but said that it had not funded terrorists. Falin, who first refused to testify, flew to Moscow from Germany yesterday, where he has been living for the past year, for the hearing. He agreed to testify on the condition that the court pay his expenses.
