Medvedev Street in Jericho

A central street in the West Bank city of Jericho will be named after President Dmitry Medvedev, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas said.

"Residents of Jericho decided to give your name to one of the main streets," Abbas told Medvedev on Friday at the president's residence, according to a transcript on the Kremlin's web site.

Abbas also gave Medvedev pictures of the street and a certificate from local authorities.

Medvedev visited Jericho last January.
