Coach Don Shula said in a statement that Monday's operation repaired a torn cartilage in the knee and drained blood from the left hip caused by a contusion Sunday.
"He will miss this week's game against the New Orleans Saints and he will be evaluated after that on a week-to-week basis," Shula said.
