KIEV () -- Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma discussed disarmament and trade links with Ireland's prime minister in a stopover en route to Canada, Ukrainian television said.
During the meeting Sunday at Shannon airport, Kuchma explained to Prime Minister Albert Reynolds that Ukraine wanted guarantees for its security before the Kiev parliament could agree to back the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, the report said.
