Korean Spy Shot

SEOUL () -- After eluding a massive manhunt for three days, a North Korean spy was fatally shot Friday when he tried to break through a tightening cordon of commandos on a thickly wooded mountain.

Park Kwang Nam had been on the run since Tuesday, when he escaped a shootout that killed a South Korean police officer, wounded two others and left his compatriot, Kim Do Shik, in custody.

Park was flown to Seoul in a coma with no signs of brain activity, and died three hours later.
