Keeler Was Soviet Spy

LONDON () -- Christine Keeler, at the heart of a 1963 sex scandal that disgraced a senior minister and shook Britain's ruling Conservative Party, has admitted for the first time that she was a Soviet spy.


War Minister John Profumo resigned after lying about his affair with Keeler who, at the height of the Cold War, was also sleeping with a Soviet naval attach?.


"In the beginning I was spying with (socialite matchmaker) Stephen Ward, delivering stuff to the Russian embassy, but I really didn't know what I was doing," she told the celebrity magazine OK in an article published Friday.
