Kazakhstan Investors Protected

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed a law on foreign investment that protects foreign investors from detrimental changes in the law for a period of 10 years, the newspaper Izvestia reported on Tuesday.

The law, passed by the country's parliament at the end of last year, will guarantee the property rights of investors in cases of war, changes of government and state system.

Russian Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin promised foreign investors a similar piece of legislation last year, but nothing has yet been approved.
