Kazakh Poll Dates Set

ALMATY, Kazakhstan () -- Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a decree Monday setting new parliamentary elections for December, news reports said.


The upper chamber, or the Senate, will be elected on Dec. 5, comprising three representatives from each of Kazakhstan's 19 regions.


The 67 members of the lower chamber, or Medzhlis, will be elected Dec. 9 in single-seat constituencies, Interfax reported.
