Jockeys To Be Tested

LONDON () -- Random drug testing of jockeys will be introduced in Britain for the first time when the new racing season begins in October.

The Jockey Club, the sport's national governing body, announced Monday the measures that will bring horse racing in line with other major sports in Britain. From three to five jockeys may be chosen to give urine samples by a special Sports Council drug testing unit that will visit a racetrack each week.
