israelis Quit Offices

YATTA, West Bank -- Israeli troops cleared out military occupation offices in three Palestinian villages Wednesday, preparing to hand them over to the PLO under a West Bank peace deal.

Military officials said Israel would later in the day evacuate the offices in Yatta, Qabatya and Kharbatha, in another step to dissolve the administration that oversaw the Jewish state's 28-year occupation over Palestinians.

Israel on Tuesday handed over its military administration office in the town of Salfit, 50 kilometers north of Jerusalem to the PLO, in the first token pullback from a West Bank village.
